Databases provide a way to search for articles on particular subjects in magazines or journals. Databases may include full text of articles or they may only include abstracts (summaries and citations) for articles.
- A general article database might include 1500 journals or magazines addressing many subject areas.
- A specialized article database might only cover a few hundred journals, but will focus on one particular subject area.
Your NLC Library subscribes to many databases.
Use these specialized databases to find articles on topics related to the study of nursing and allied health, or use the Discovery search on the Library home page to search other databases.

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) is available in the Slave Lake Campus Library Reference Collection.
The American Psychiatric Association provides definitions, symptoms, and treatments of common mental disorders on the "Families and Patients" portion of the association website.
